The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a nationwide call for entries to the Student Venture Capital Program (S‑VCG). The scheme is designed to supply seed capital, validation assistance, and country‑wide exposure to ambitious student‑run enterprises.

The initiative targets budding innovators operating in Nigeria’s priority development fields, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical science.

Who can apply?

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary institution – this covers universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
• Candidates should be at least at the 300‑level (or the equivalent standing) at their school. Students below this level may still participate as part of a team led by a 300‑level or higher student.
• Submissions are accepted from individuals as well as from groups.

Funding details:

• The current S‑VCG cycle offers grant awards of up to ₦50 million per eligible project.
