The University of Lagos Students' Union (ULSU) has released a crucial notice for all Akokites concerning hostel registration and the start of the academic session. After a meeting with the Dean of Students Affairs, the Union shared new procedures and timelines that students need to follow.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete their online registration as soon as possible. Early submission helps avoid long queues, processing delays, and unnecessary stress at the hall administration offices.
Hostel Clearance — Important Change:
The Union has discontinued the former method of collecting clearance forms from individual departments for Dean or HOD signatures. The new process is as follows:
Students who receive a hostel allocation are required to physically check in to their halls within five weeks of the 19 October 2026 resumption date. Failure to occupy the assigned bed within this window will lead to automatic cancellation of the allocation and the space will be offered to students on the official waiting list.
The only permissible exception is for documented medical cases, which must be submitted for verification before the deadline expires.
The Union urges all students to adhere strictly to these guidelines and to circulate the information among peers so that everyone stays well‑informed.
