Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has released an announcement seeking qualified professionals to fill its Registrar and University Librarian posts. The two senior officer roles are slated to become vacant on 28 February 2027, and the Governing Council has initiated the selection process in line with the university’s establishing statutes.

Qualifications for Registrar

• Hold a good honours degree with at least a Second Class standing in Arts, Social Sciences, Management Sciences or Humanities from a recognised university.
• Possess a minimum of 15 years of post‑qualification experience directly related to university administration.
• Be proficient with computers and demonstrate familiarity with contemporary e‑administration technologies.
• Be an active member of the relevant professional bodies.
• Not be older than 60 years as of 1 April 2027.

Candidates meeting the above criteria are invited to apply for the Registrar position.

Qualifications for University Librarian

• Must be a professor who also holds a good honours degree (minimum Second Class) and appropriate postgraduate credentials, including a master’s and PhD in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.
• Show a record of academic excellence through quality publications, teaching, research and credible community‑service engagements.
• Be computer literate and possess substantial knowledge of modern technologies applied to library services and operations.
• Have at least 15 years of post‑qualification experience in a reputable university or research institution.
• Be certified by the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• Not exceed 65 years of age on 1 April 2027 and must be currently in active service.

The successful applicant will be expected to meet all these requirements for the University Librarian role.

Tenure of Office

The university notes that, similar to other principal officer appointments, each of these positions carries a single five‑year term.

Method of Application

Prospective applicants must prepare twenty (20) hard‑copy copies of their application package. Each package should include a duly signed Curriculum Vitae and photocopies of all relevant academic and professional credentials.

The Curriculum Vitae should detail personal data, educational background, work history, professional memberships, contact information, the names and addresses of three referees, and a concise statement—no longer than five hundred (500) words—outlining the applicant’s vision for the role.

Applicants are also required to ask their referees to send their assessment reports directly to the Registrar, sealed and marked confidential.

Submission Deadline

All documents, together with the referees’ reports, must be placed in a sealed envelope clearly labelled either “POST OF REGISTRAR, NSUK” or “POST OF UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN”, as appropriate.

The envelopes should be addressed to the Registrar, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and must reach the office no later than six weeks after the date this notice is published.
