Applications are now open for the British Council Film Lab Africa 2026, a film and television accelerator programme in Nigeria designed to support the next generation of African storytellers and filmmakers.
Following the outcomes of its 2023–2024 pilot phase, Film Lab Africa returns with a sharper, more intentional focus. The new edition prioritises strong writing and production skills, cross-border collaboration between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, broader visibility for African stories, and fair, sustainable growth within the creative industry.
The 2026 edition is themed Story Lab, with a clear focus on scripted episodic content for film and television. This approach creates a collaborative space where writers, directors, and producers can work across both creative and industry-driven platforms.
