The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has formally announced the approved registration procedure for all newly admitted Year One students for the ongoing academic session.
The directive, issued by the Office of the Registrar, is addressed to fresh students, university staff, the wider UNICROSS community, and the general public. It clearly outlines the compulsory stages of registration and emphasizes that the process must be completed strictly in the order approved by the university.
⸻
Stage One: Full Payment And Confirmation Of School Fees
New students are required to pay the full approved school fees for the academic session and print the online payment receipt.
Following payment, each student must present the printed receipt to the Faculty Finance Officer for official confirmation. This confirmation is mandatory and must not be skipped, as it validates the payment.
⸻
Stage Two: Submission Of Documents To The Faculty Officer
Upon confirmation of payment, students are to report to their respective Faculty Officers with the following documents:
• Confirmed receipts for school fees and acceptance fees
• O’Level certificate(s) or statement of result (originals and four photocopies)
• Evidence of age (Birth Certificate or Age Declaration)
• Certificate of Local Government and State of Origin
• JAMB Admission Letter
• University Admission Letter
• Letters of Attestation
• Receipt of payment for Faculty and Departmental registration fees
All listed documents must be provided in full, as incomplete submissions will delay registration.
⸻
Stage Three: Payment For Official UNICROSS Files
Fresh students are also required to pay a sum of ₦1,000 only to the Faculty Finance Officer for the issuance of five (5) UNICROSS-branded files, which will be used for documentation throughout the registration process.
⸻
Stage Four: Verification Of O’Level Results
Students must submit their O’Level certificate(s) or statement of result along with the corresponding scratch card(s) to the Faculty Certificate Verification Officer for verification.
Candidates using two O’Level results must attach separate scratch cards for each result submitted. Each result must be backed by its own scratch card.
⸻
Stage Five: Online Course Registration
After successful verification of documents, students are to complete their course registration online via the official UNICROSS portal using the university’s approved login platform.
⸻
University Warning On Unauthorised Payments
The university has issued a strong warning against making any unauthorised payments to staff for certificate verification, faculty or departmental registration, Students’ Union Government (SUG) dues, or other related charges.
UNICROSS emphasized that all approved charges are already included in the official school fees, and students should not make additional payments outside the approved channels.
⸻
Directive To Staff
All staff members involved in the registration exercise have been instructed to adhere strictly to the approved procedures. The university management has made it clear that any staff found violating the guidelines will face appropriate disciplinary action.
⸻
Vice-Chancellor Welcomes New Students
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, congratulated all newly admitted students and formally welcomed them into the UNICROSS academic community, wishing them a successful and rewarding university experience.
In short: follow the steps, avoid shortcuts, make no unofficial payments, and get registered properly.
