The Ahmadu Bello University Students’ Representative Council has announced the commencement of the refund of institutional fees to students who benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the council, the refund is meant for students who had already paid their institutional fees before the loan disbursement under the NELFUND program. The refund exercise is part of the university management's efforts to ensure that students who had earlier settled their institutional charges but were later covered by the loan scheme are properly reimbursed.
Students affected by the process have been advised to regularly check their registered bank accounts and official communication channels for updates regarding their refund status. The council also noted that the refund is being carried out in phases, with beneficiaries expected to receive their payments as the disbursement progresses.
The SRC appreciated the patience and cooperation shown by students throughout the process, reaffirming its commitment to advocating for the welfare and financial relief of the student community. Students experiencing delays or seeking clarification were encouraged to contact the appropriate university support channels or the SRC for further guidance.
