The management of Yobe State University, Damaturu, has approved a two-week Ramadan break for all students. According to an official memo issued by the Office of the Registrar and dated 6th March, 2026, the approval was granted by the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the University Senate. The break is scheduled to commence from Monday, 9th March to Friday, 20th March, 2026. During this period, lectures will be suspended to allow students to observe the Ramadan fasting and engage in spiritual activities. Students are also informed that the first semester examinations will begin on 11th May, 2026, as already stated in the institution's academic calendar. The university management encouraged students to use the Ramadan period for worship, reflection, and prayers for peace, progress, and stability within the university, the state, and the nation at large.
