The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) recently met with the Office of the Students’ Revenue Officer to address delays in NELFUND refunds. The Officer provided clarifications and updates on the refund process.
1. The processing of refunds for the 2024/2025 academic session has officially begun and will be done in two batches. The first batch includes students who had already paid their full school fees before NELFUND disbursed the funds for 2024/2025. These students will receive a full refund within the next two weeks.
The second batch involves students whom NELFUND overpaid. The balance (the excess amount) will be refunded to the respective accounts provided by the students.
2. All NELFUND beneficiaries must write a new letter to the Students’ Revenue Department, explicitly stating their preference regarding the funds. They can choose to have the school use the money to pay their school fees or have the money refunded directly to them.
3. For the 2025/2026 academic session, beneficiaries are advised to start submitting their letters now to ensure a quick refund process and timely payment of school fees once the second semester begins.
4. Students whom NELFUND underpaid are required to balance their school fees immediately by sending the remaining balance to the provided account numbers and visiting the office with their receipt.
Students are advised to visit the Students’ Revenue Department as soon as possible to submit their letters and clarify their payment status.
