The University of Abuja's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has announced the schedule for the institution's 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremony on behalf of the Council, Senate, and the entire University Community.

The week-long event is scheduled to hold from Friday, 10th April to Saturday, 18th April 2026, and will feature the award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, and the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees. All major ceremonies will take place at the University Convocation Square, Main Campus, starting at 10:00 am daily, unless otherwise stated.

The full schedule of events includes various activities such as Juma’at Prayer, Inter-Denominational Church Service, Press Briefing by the Vice-Chancellor, Faculty Innovation Showcase, and a Convocation Lecture.

Day One: Friday, 10th April 2026, will feature a Juma’at Prayer at the University Mosque at 1:00 pm. Day Two: Sunday, 12th April 2026, will have an Inter-Denominational Church Service at the Chapel of Love, Mini Campus at 9:00 am.

On Day Three: Monday, 13th April 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, will hold a Press Briefing at the Academic Conference Centre, Main Campus at 10:00 am. Day Four: Tuesday, 14th April 2026, will feature a Faculty Innovation Showcase, a Drug Awareness and Sensitisation Lecture, and the Vice-Chancellor’s Fireside Chat with First-Class Graduands.

Day Five: Wednesday, 15th April 2026, will include a Tree Planting ceremony, a Climate Change Lecture, and a Convocation Play. The Convocation Lecture will be held on Day Six: Thursday, 16th April 2026, with the topic “Graduating into an AI Powered Fintech World: Opportunities, Challenges and Responsibilities” to be delivered by Olugbenga Agboola, OON (CEO, Flutterwave).

The Convocation Ceremony for the Award of First Degrees will take place on Day Seven: Friday, 17th April 2026, at the Convocation Square at 10:00 am, followed by the Chancellor’s Dinner at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja at 6:00 pm. The Ceremony for the Award of Higher Degrees and Conferment of Honorary Degrees will be held on Day Eight: Saturday, 18th April 2026, at the Convocation Square at 10:00 am.
