The Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, approved the appointments of Prof. Afolake Atinuke Olanbiwoninu and Prof. Adeyemi Olukayode Binuyo as Deputy Vice-Chancellors at its emergency meeting on Monday, 16th March, 2026.

Prof. Olanbiwoninu of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Prof. Binuyo of the Department of Mathematics was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration). The appointments were conveyed in separate memos signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun.

The appointments followed their election on February 23, 2026, during a special meeting of the University Senate. According to the memos, the appointments are for an initial term of two years, renewable for another two-year term, in line with the provisions of the University Law (2003), page 37, Section 4, Subsection 2.

The memos further outlined the responsibilities of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, as stipulated in the University Law (2003), page 38, Section 4, Subsection 3. These include assisting the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day administration of the university, as well as performing other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
