The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to several academic programmes at Federal University Lokoja (FUL), following its October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.
According to the official communication dated April 7, 2026, the fully accredited programmes include Mass Communication, Computer Science, Education Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Sociology.
The NUC noted that the accreditation was conducted in line with its statutory mandate to ensure quality assurance and adherence to minimum academic standards across Nigerian universities.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of FUL, Prof. Gbenga Ibileye, expressed appreciation to the NUC for the positive outcome. He commended the staff and students of the affected departments for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence.
Professor Ibileye stated that the achievement reflects the University’s sustained investment in quality teaching, research, and infrastructure. He reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to maintain high standards and further strengthen all academic programmes in line with global best practices.
The University Management views this milestone as a strong validation of its academic direction and a motivation to continue delivering quality education.
