The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Student Union Government (SUG) has announced that power has been restored to the school area after a 6-day outage. A meeting was held with NEPA officials to address the prolonged power issue, which was caused by a national generation problem affecting the entire country. The SUG clarified that the outage was not an intentional act by the IBEDC officials.
Following their intervention, the technical fault was promptly fixed, and the restoration process was completed after waiting at the NEPA office. The NEPA officials have assured that they will begin work on improving the power distribution network in the area to prevent future occurrences of such extended outages. The SUG appreciates the patience and understanding of students during this difficult period and will continue to monitor the situation to ensure stable power supply going forward.
