Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has announced the date for its 20th Convocation Ceremony, which will take place from Wednesday, June 17th to Saturday, June 20th, 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, made this disclosure during the 242nd Senate meeting held at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, UNIZIK, in 2026.
According to Prof. Anyaehie, the convocation ceremony will provide an opportunity for graduands of the 2024/2025 academic session to receive their certificates. The four-day program will also feature the award of honorary degrees and the bestowment of Emeritus Professorial titles.
Additionally, Prof. Anyaehie hinted at the possibility of another convocation ceremony before the end of the year, tentatively scheduled for November 2026, to coincide with the birthday of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the welfare of students and staff remains a top priority during his five-year administration as the Chief Executive of the institution.
