The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has introduced a new biometric attendance system to enhance its assessment processes. The move is part of ongoing efforts to deliver world-class examination services, replacing the current electronic attendance system that relies on candidates' smart cards. As a result, smart cards will no longer be issued for candidates participating in the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates examination. These smart cards previously contained Result Checker PINs. To ensure easy access to result-checking details, candidates can visit serial-pin.waec.org, enter their examination information online, and obtain their Result Checker PINs for seamless access to their results when released. WAEC has expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the examination process.
