The Senate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has approved the official lecture hours for the institution.

The approved hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, as decided at the 245th Meeting of the Senate held at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium.

This decision followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Lecture Monitoring.

Under this new directive, any lectures scheduled outside these approved hours will be considered unauthorized, and lecturers responsible will be held liable for any issues arising from such classes.

However, the Senate stipulated that lectures or practical sessions that must extend beyond 4:00 p.m. can do so with written approval from both the Head of Department and the Dean of the Faculty.

In a memo to the university community, the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke, directed that any lecturer needing to conduct a class outside normal hours should do so virtually via platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.

Such virtual lectures must be recorded and uploaded to the University Learning Management System (LMS) for monitoring.

The university has directed all Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors, and Course Coordinators to ensure strict compliance with the Senate's resolution.
