Candidates who listed the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as their first‑choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are now invited to take part in the Supplementary Screening Exercise for admission. The following terms and conditions govern the process:

• The application portal will become active on Thursday, 24 September 2026 and will close on Thursday, 8 October 2026.
• Only applicants who are at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 are qualified to submit an application.
• Each applicant must verify that their JAMB subject combination matches the combination specified in the JAMB brochure for the intended programme.
• Candidates who did not initially select FUTO as their first choice but achieved a minimum UTME score of 150 may still apply, provided they log into JAMB CAPS and amend their first‑choice institution to FUTO.
• Applicants must possess at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three additional relevant subjects (subject to the programme) obtained in no more than two sittings.
• A minimum UTME score of 150 is required for eligibility. The specific minimum JAMB scores for each faculty are listed below:

7. Mode of Payment and Registration Procedure

Qualified applicants must remit an application fee of N18,000.00 if they had previously applied for the Post‑UTME screening, or N20,000.00 for a brand‑new application.

8. Nature of the Screening Exercise

The 2026/2027 Post‑UTME Screening Exercise will rely on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results that have been uploaded to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

9. Important Notices

a. Verify that the information on JAMB CAPS—including your chosen programme—matches exactly what you enter on the Post‑UTME portal. Use the correct JAMB registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc.

b. Provide a functional mobile number and email address for subsequent communication.

c. Upload your O’Level results to JAMB CAPS no later than Thursday, 8 October 2026. After entering the results, click the "Refresh" button to confirm successful upload.

d. Applicants who miss the registration window will be excluded from the exercise.

e. Only those who successfully submit an online application will be considered for admission.

10. To register, follow these steps:

• (i) Visit the university website at www.futo.edu.ng, navigate to "Prospective Students," then select "Undergraduate."
• OR
• (ii) Open the direct portal link: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate
• Click the "Generate invoice" button.
• Input your JAMB registration number to produce a payment invoice that includes the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
• Pay the invoice at any bank or use an ATM card for immediate payment.
• Return to the application portal: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate
• Select "Application Form."
• Enter your JAMB registration number and click "Login."
• Complete the form with accurate details.
• Review all entries carefully before confirming submission.
• Submit your application (Remember that the application is only considered complete after you press the “Submit” button).
• Print the acknowledgment slip.
• Stay alert for additional communication from the University.
