The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates who were unable to attend their rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to valid reasons to file a formal report using the board’s official support platform.
This announcement was shared through JAMB’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
The board instructed impacted candidates to submit a ticket via its support website, providing a clear explanation for their absence and suggesting a preferred location for a potential retake.
“If you missed your scheduled examination for a legitimate reason, please submit a support ticket at http://support.jamb.gov.ng stating the reason for your absence and your preferred centre for the retake,” the board posted.
Steps to submit a ticket:
Go to http://support.jamb.gov.ng and provide a detailed explanation.
Clearly state the reason for missing the exam.
Indicate a preferred examination centre for a possible resit.
This process is designed to enable JAMB to efficiently assess and respond to valid complaints while coordinating new testing arrangements for affected candidates.
Emergency Support Centre for Candidates
In addition to the support platform, JAMB has introduced a Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC) to assist those in need of immediate help or information.
The new support channel serves as a supplement to the existing ticketing system, which remains JAMB’s most dependable method for candidate assistance.
“Alongside our established and preferred ticketing support system, JAMB has introduced a Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC).
Concerned members of the public, especially candidates with pressing issues, are encouraged to contact any of the following officials: Gbenga, Yusuf, Dubem, Tony, Ogbonna, and Emma through 07002200016,” the board announced.
While introducing this new emergency resource, JAMB emphasized that the digital ticketing platform is still the fastest and most effective way to reach the board.
“Please be reminded that the ticketing platform remains the main and most efficient communication channel with JAMB. It is user-friendly, quick to navigate, and ensures prompt responses,” the statement read.
Important Updates
The emergency support initiative was launched shortly after JAMB declared that it would reconduct the 2025 UTME for 379,997 candidates who experienced technical disruptions in 157 centres nationwide.
The retake commenced on Friday, May 16, 2025, and affected candidates are being contacted through SMS, emails, phone calls, and via their JAMB profiles.
The identified issues were linked to missing exam items in certain regions.
Lagos recorded the highest number of affected candidates, with 65 centres and 206,610 candidates encountering technical faults.
Similarly, the Owerri operational zone, which includes several areas in the South-East, experienced widespread disruptions across 92 centres, impacting 173,387 candidates.
