The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disassociated itself from misleading messages being circulated through a falsified version of its official 66019 short code.
In a statement released on Wednesday, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, warned that the messages in question are fake and intended to mislead the public. He labeled the communications as fraudulent and designed to create confusion.
According to Dr. Benjamin, these false messages have been instructing candidates — including some who have already taken the resit exams and received their results — to reprint their examination slips for yet another resit.
He emphasized that no further exams are currently scheduled, and candidates who have already completed the resit and obtained their results should not be alarmed.
“The only upcoming examination JAMB is preparing for is the foreign UTME, which is conducted across nine countries in Europe, the Middle East, and select African nations. Apart from this, a mop-up examination is also in the works — but only for candidates who missed both the main and resit exams and have been granted waivers specifically for biometric-related issues in 2025,” he explained.
JAMB advised the public to ignore any fraudulent messages about additional resits. Eligible candidates for the mop-up exam will be properly informed once the logistics are finalized.
