The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has warned the public about fraudulent activities of scammers posing as admission officers. These individuals claim to offer admission to unsuspecting candidates for the 2026/2027 academic session.
For clarity, admission into FUTA is managed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), a process that is closely monitored and resistant to manipulation. Currently, only registration for intending candidates is ongoing, and no admissions have been offered as the process has not reached that stage.
The university is advising all prospective candidates, parents, sponsors, and the general public to be cautious of scammers spreading false information about the admission process. Some individuals may offer fake admissions in exchange for money or other financial gains.
Candidates, parents, and guardians are strongly warned not to pay any money to individuals or groups for checking results, uploading results, or influencing the admission process in any way. Admission to FUTA is strictly based on merit and cannot be influenced.
Signed, C.O. Adeleye, Registrar, FUTA
