The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is set to host a university-wide virtual meeting, aimed at enlightening students about the Tertiary Institutions Students Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP). According to a memo issued by the Registrar’s Office on Wednesday, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) will lead the online session, scheduled for this weekend.
The primary objective of the meeting is to shed light on the “objectives, benefits, and implementation” of the TISHIP, a student health insurance scheme designed to cover medical needs during academic sessions.
Meeting Details: · Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026 · Time: 10:00 AM · Venue: Zoom · Access: The link and passcode for the meeting have been provided in the official memo sent to registered students.
The notice, signed by Opeyemi Ajala, Principal Assistant Registrar on behalf of the Registrar, stressed that “all students are kindly requested to make themselves available for this important engagement.” The TISHIP programme is a federal initiative that seeks to provide affordable healthcare access to students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
As an institution with an extensive open and distance learning framework, NOUN continues to utilize virtual platforms to engage its nationwide student body on key policy and welfare matters, ensuring that all students are informed and involved in decisions affecting their academic and personal well-being.
