The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Wukari has announced the commencement of a registration exercise for all accommodation agents operating within the university community. This move aims to protect students from exploitation by identifying and regulating agents, ensuring transparency and accountability in the housing process.
The SUG emphasizes that this registration is completely free of charge. Intending agents are directed to register and become certified through official channels. To begin the certification process, agents should contact Comr. Oluwafemi Abiola, SSA on Accommodation Matters, at 0704 610 9733. Detailed requirements for registration will be communicated during the process.
The SUG advises students to deal only with certified agents to avoid fraudulent activities, exploitation, and excessive agent fees. A comprehensive list of registered and certified agents will be published periodically to facilitate easy identification and verification. This initiative reflects the administration's commitment to ensuring a safe, affordable, and conducive living environment for all Federal University Wukari students.
The registration exercise is part of the SUG's efforts to promote student welfare and safety. By regulating accommodation agents, the university aims to prevent exploitation and ensure that students have access to affordable and reliable housing options. The SUG leadership, including President Comr. Mathias Urerimam and General Secretary Comr. Useni Nuhu, has signed off on this initiative, demonstrating their commitment to student well-being.
