The 33rd Matriculation Ceremony for fresh undergraduate students of the 2025/2026 academic session is scheduled for Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the New Convocation Square.
All Principal Officers and Members of Senate are required to process, while Heads of Units and other members of staff are invited to attend. Members of Senate should report to the New Convocation Square by 9:00 a.m. as the procession will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.
Deans and Heads of Department are requested to access the list of registered students in their Faculty and Department through the Directorate of ICT or Faculty ICT staff. They must ensure all qualified candidates are properly registered.
The orientation of registered students will take place on Monday, 20th, and Tuesday, 21st April, 2026, at the New Convocation Square. The Orientation Committee will release details of the exercise. These days will be lecture-free for fresh undergraduates.
Faculty Officers will begin issuing matriculation gowns to registered students from Friday, 17th April, 2026. Each student must pay a non-refundable fee of ₦2000.00 at Fidelity Bank Plc (account number: 5030023693) or Zenith Bank (account number: 1011136506) and present the bank receipt to their Faculty Officers to collect the gown.
The Academic Office will provide matriculation gowns to Faculty Officers for distribution to registered fresh students who have paid the fee. All Senate members must arrange for a staff member to collect their Academic gown from the Academic Office for the ceremony.
Fresh students must return their matriculation gowns to the Faculty Officers by Friday, 1st May, 2026. Late returns will incur a fine of ₦500.00 per day, payable to the Bursary Department.
All fresh students are required to download the Matriculation Oath and University Anthem from the University Portal (www.bsum.edu.ng) and bring them to the Orientation/Matriculation Ceremony.
