Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, has achieved a significant milestone with the establishment of the School of Computing and Information Technology. The approval for this new school was granted by the Polytechnic's Top Management during a meeting held on Thursday, 4th June 2026, following extensive deliberations and the adoption of recommendations submitted by the Technical Committee.
The creation of the School of Computing and Information Technology represents a strategic response to the growing global demand for technology-driven education and workforce development. It demonstrates the Polytechnic's commitment to aligning its academic programs with contemporary trends in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, networking, software engineering, information management, and communication technologies.
The newly established school comprises several departments, including the Department of Computer Science, Department of Networking and Computing, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Department of Cyber Security, Department of Software and Web Development, Department of Library and Information Technology, and the Department of Mass Communication.
