The creation of the School of Computing and Information Technology represents a strategic response to the growing global demand for technology-driven education and workforce development. It demonstrates the Polytechnic's commitment to aligning its academic programs with contemporary trends in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, networking, software engineering, information management, and communication technologies.

The newly established school comprises several departments, including the Department of Computer Science, Department of Networking and Computing, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Department of Cyber Security, Department of Software and Web Development, Department of Library and Information Technology, and the Department of Mass Communication.

The establishment of the School of Computing and Information Technology marks a significant step in the Polytechnic's journey toward becoming a leading center of excellence in technological education, research, innovation, and skills development. The school is expected to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge, practical competencies, and industry-relevant skills necessary for success in today's rapidly evolving digital economy.

Management of the Polytechnic expressed confidence that the new school will stimulate academic growth, foster innovation, strengthen research capacity, and enhance the institution's contribution to national development. Staff and students have been encouraged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, dedication, and academic integrity to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of the programs.

Dr. Ibrahim Umar Kontagora, commended the efforts of the Technical Committee, Management, Academic Board, and all stakeholders whose invaluable contributions culminated in the establishment of the school. He reaffirmed the Polytechnic's commitment to providing quality technical and vocational education that meets societal needs and responds effectively to emerging technological realities.

The Polytechnic community, development partners, industry stakeholders, alumni, and the general public are invited to support this landmark initiative as Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru continues to strengthen its position as a hub for technological innovation, academic excellence, and human capital development in Nigeria.
