The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the change of course and institution process for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates can process their changes at accredited centres or JAMB offices. Please note that a payment will be required for the process, in addition to service charges to be paid to the CBT centre.
To change their course or institution, candidates are advised to proceed to an accredited centre or JAMB office. They can also use this opportunity to correct their bio-data. However, it is essential to ensure that a change of course or institution is necessary before proceeding.
The step-by-step guide for the change of institution or course is as follows: Visit an Accredited CBT Centre with your registration slip and request for correction of data. Inform the officer that you wish to perform a 'Change of Institution' or 'Change of Course.' A mandatory fee of ₦2,500 (plus a CBT service charge, usually ₦700 to ₦1,000) is typically required. Provide your new choices to the operator and undergo biometric verification by thumbprinting to authorize the change. Ensure you collect your Change of Data Slip as proof of the transaction.
Before making any changes, candidates should confirm if they meet the requirements of the course and the institution they intend to change to. It is crucial to provide accurate details, including current course and institution of choice, the reason for the change, and UTME score, to receive informed advice from experienced individuals.
