The Orientation Programme is one of the traditional activities put in place to mark the beginning of each academic session at the University of Lagos.
It is designed to acquaint fresh students with the university policies and practices, give necessary information about life and work at the university, the personnel, places, as well as the rules and regulations, which guide their stay both in the faculties and Halls of Residence.
The programme features selected lectures on relevant topics. Freshers will also meet Principal Officers, Deans of Faculties, Directors and Heads of Departments.
The programme will run in two sessions concurrently. To facilitate this, all freshers have been grouped into two as follows:
Group 1
i. Faculty of Arts
ii. Faculty of Business Administration
iii. Faculty of Pharmacy
iv. Faculty of Science
v. College of Medicine
Group 2
i. Faculty of Law
ii. Faculty of Environmental Sciences
iii. Faculty of Social Sciences
iv. Faculty of Engineering
v. Faculty of Education
While one group attends orientation lectures, the second group will be on campus tour and vice versa. The take-off point for the campus tour is the frontage of the Main Auditorium.
The programme has been scheduled to hold from Monday 11th January, 2016 – Sunday 17th January, 2016
Details of the programme are as follows:
Day 1 - Monday, 11th January, 2016 at the Main Auditorium and Multi-Purpose Hall - Orientation lecture and Campus tour
DAY 2 - Tuesday, 12th January, 2016 at the Main Auditorium and Multi-Purpose Hall – Orientation lecture and Library tour
Day 3 - Wednesday, 13th January, 2016 at Multi-Purpose Halls ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ – Orientation lecture and Campus tour

Day 4 - Thursday, 14th January, 2016 – Orientation Novelty Match at the Sports Centre.
Day 5 - Friday, 15th January, 2016 - Multi-Purpose Halls ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’
i. Grand Finale; Breakfast with Principal Officers of the University at 9.00 a.m.
ii. Matriculation Ceremony at 11.30 a.m.
iii. Special Jumat Service for Muslim freshers at the University of Lagos Mosque at 1.00 p.m.
Day 6 – Sunday, 17th January, 2016 –Special Worship Service for Christian freshers at the University of Lagos Chapel
