Joint Universities Preliminary Board (JUPEB)
The Joint Universities Preliminary Board, commonly known as JUPEB, operates as a national examination authority sanctioned by Nigeria’s Federal Government and backed by a coalition of ten partner universities, including UNILAG, UNILORIN, UNIBEN, UNIPORT, UNIUYO, UNN, FUTO, OAU, FUTA, and FUNAAB.
JUPEB programme is University based
Designed as a university‑based pathway, the JUPEB programme aims to standardise the academic calibre of students entering directly into the second year (200 Level). Candidates must enrol for a one‑year course at any university approved by JUPEB, after which the board administers a common set of examinations covering three subjects. Prospective students can select from 43 distinct subject combinations that align with interests across Arts, Law, Science, Social Sciences, Administration, and Management.
