The administration of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM), previously known as Benue State University, has rolled out fresh security protocols for its graduating cohort, prohibiting the invitation of parents, guardians, friends or other well‑wishers to the campus on the day of commencement.
An internal memorandum dated October 29, 2026, bearing the signature of Chief Security Officer S. T. Gbeho (DDIS RTD), outlines the new directives. The memo notes that the decision was taken after the University Management Committee examined its security framework during its 403rd meeting on September 28, 2026.
The purpose of these measures is to guarantee an orderly and uninterrupted graduation ceremony as well as the subsequent sign‑out process on university grounds.
The Security Unit has called on all graduating students to observe these instructions rigorously and extends its best wishes for a successful graduation.
The memorandum was also circulated to the Vice‑Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Student Union President and NUBESS President for their awareness and appropriate follow‑up.
