The Nasarawa State University chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has threatened to go on another indefinite strike action if the management of the university failed to pay their three months’ outstanding salaries.
According to the chairman of the union, Dr. Theopholus Lagi, it was frustrating that the government and the management of the university could not honour the agreement reached before the earlier strike was suspended.
He emphasized that if by Friday their three months’ outstanding salaries was not paid, the union would reconvene to decide on an action that will shock the management.
Meanwhile, the Public relation officer of the university, Mr Jamil Zakari, has disclosed that the management is working to make sure the lecturers receive all their outstanding salaries before the week runs out.
He further appealed to the lecturers to consider the negative impact another strike will cause the institution.
