The 4th Governing Council of Federal University Dutse, at its 8th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 7th May, 2026, approved the promotion of twenty-one Academic Staff to the rank of Professor and twenty-seven to the rank of Reader with effect from 1st October, 2025.

The newly promoted Professors include Dr. Umar Mukhtar, Dr. Aliyu Abdurrahaman, and Dr. Gama Emmanuel Nkwi, all in the field of Agricultural Economics. Others are Dr. Bashir Garba Muktar and Dr. Ado Garba in Agricultural Extension, Dr. Danmaigoro Olarenwaju in Agronomy, and Dr. Ibrahim Sanusi Chinade in Literature in English.

Dr. Nasiruddeen Ibrahim Ahmad was promoted to Professor of Arabic Linguistics, while Dr. Philip N. Ndubueze became a Professor of Sociology. Dr. Lamidi Kamal Olaniyi was promoted to Professor of Political Science, and Dr. Zahraddeen Sufyan to Professor of Computer Science.

The list of newly promoted Readers includes Dr. Martins Olusegun Orifah, Dr. Ibrahim Bala Salisu, and Dr. Sanusi Mustapha, among others. Congratulations to the new Professors and Readers.
