The MUSON/MTNF Diploma School of Music has officially announced the opening of admission for its 21st cohort.

THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS / AUDITIONS

The Entrance Examinations and Auditions are scheduled to take place from Monday, August 31st, to Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026.

• Written Examination on Music Theory and General Knowledge will be held on Monday, August 31st, 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• On-site Practical Audition and Aural Interview on a Major Instrument or Voice will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 1st and 2nd, 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the MUSON/MTNF Diploma course in music, applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements:

• The General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level with credits in at least five subjects, including the English language.
• OR
• The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in at least five subjects, including the English language.

The five credits must have been obtained at not more than two sittings before admission to the Diploma course.

MUSIC THEORY

Applicants must possess a Grade five or higher graded certificate from the MUSON School of Music or any other recognized graded music certificate approved by the MUSON SCHOOL, such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College, London (Trinity).

MUSIC PRACTICAL

Applicants must also have a Grade five or higher graded certificate from the MUSON School of Music or any other recognized graded music certificate approved by the MUSON SCHOOL, such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College, London (Trinity).

APPLICATION PROCESS

Only complete and timely applications will be considered. Short-listed applicants who meet the requirements will be notified by Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for further audition and interview. An examination number will be allocated to participants, which permits them to take examinations, auditions, and interviews. Successful candidates from the examinations, auditioning, and interview will then be admitted.

Please note that admission is strictly based on merit.
