LASU: Direct Entry Admission Screening Opens (2026/2027)

Applications are now being accepted from qualified individuals who wish to join Lagos State University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session through the Direct Entry pathway. Participation in this online screening process is compulsory for anyone seeking entry via Direct Entry.

CANDIDATES ARE TO NOTE THAT THEY CAN ONLY APPLY FOR THE ABOVE DURING THE ADMISSION SCREENING

Prospective students must submit their applications exclusively during the designated admission screening period; no late entries will be entertained.

2.0 ELIGIBILITY FOR SCREENING

i. All Direct Entry aspirants, including those holding a LASU Foundation (JUPEB) qualification, who intend to be considered for admission into Lagos State University for the 2026/2027 session, must have obtained a Direct Entry Form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and selected Lagos State University as their first‑choice institution. Only the LASU Diploma is recognised for Direct Entry admission, except for NCE holders applying to the Faculty of Education programmes.

ii. Candidates originating from Lagos State who are seeking admission into 100 or 200 level programmes and have successfully verified their indigene status before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IVC) established by the university will have their claims automatically approved during the online admission screening.

3.0 LIST OF ACCREDITED COURSES

Applicants should be aware that only the courses enumerated below have received accreditation for the 2026/2027 Academic Session. Consequently, candidates may apply solely for the programmes listed, provided they meet the specific entry requirements for each.

3.1 NOTE TO ALL DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES

Every Direct Entry applicant must promptly present both a printed copy of the online Admission Screening Report and the official notification of their LASU Diploma or NCE result at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office (Room 7, Administrative Block II).

4.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION

A. 2026/2027 LASU POST UTME/DE ONLINE PAYMENT REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

i. Interested candidates should navigate to www.lasu.edu.ng.

ii. Select the "Student" tab, then choose "New Applicants".

iii. Follow the link titled "UTME/DE Screening" (https://lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening).

iv. Click on "DE CANDIDATE LOGIN".

v. Input your UTME registration number, your surname, and press "SUBMIT".

vi. Press the "Make Payment (Admission Screening)" button to complete the fee transaction.

vii. On the Payment Page

  • Provide your JAMB registration number.
  • Choose "Admission Screening Fee" from the description menu.
  • Pick "Ojo" as the campus location.
  • Select "Student" as the applicant category.

viii. After the payment clears, go back to your personal dashboard.

ix. Click the button labelled "Start Admission Screening".

x. Your basic biographical details will now appear on the screen.

xi. Choose the appropriate "Mode of Entry" option.

xii. Enter the Transaction ID that you received when you paid.

xiii. Press “Submit” and proceed with the self‑screening workflow.

xiv. If you need to amend any of the information you previously entered, you may repeat the steps above. Note that a fee will be charged for each correction made.

xv. Should you wish to change your intended course of study, you can re‑screen. Additional payments will be required for every new screening attempt or amendment.

B. ONLINE SELF‑SCREENING FORM FOR ALL CANDIDATES

STEP I

Once your payment for the LAS 2026/2027 admission screening has been confirmed, navigate to https://lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening.

STEP II

Log in to the LASU online screening portal using your DE Registration Number together with your surname, and input the Transaction ID you received.

STEP III

Fill out the personal information fields accurately. Required entries include:

1. Surname

2. First name

3. Middle name

4. Date of birth

5. Gender

6. Country of residence

7. State of origin

8. Local Government Area

9. Personal email address

10. Personal phone number

11. Residential address

12. Name of parent or guardian

13. Parent/guardian phone number

14. Parent/guardian address

15. Any physical disability

After completing the data entry, click “Save and proceed”.

Next, select the desired programme of study and click “Save and proceed”.

Choose the number of O’Level examinations you have sat for, then click “Save and proceed”.

Enter the details of each O’Level result as prompted, followed by another “Save and proceed”.

Applicants must hold five (5) credit passes at O’Level in subjects that relate to their chosen programme, obtained in no more than two (2) sittings. The exception is Medicine and Dentistry, which require results from a single sitting only.

Prospective Engineering students who intend to rely on two (2) O’Level sittings must have six (6) credit passes, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, two additional science subjects, and one other subject.

Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering programmes demand a credit pass in Further Mathematics.

A credit pass in English Language is mandatory for admission to every course offered by Lagos State University.

Candidates must upload their O’Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal before the screening window closes.

Applicants who are natives of Lagos State are required to have their indigene status verified by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) established by the university. Their status will be automatically confirmed before they can continue with the online screening.

Any examination taken after July 2026 will not be accepted.

STEP IV

Review all the information you have entered carefully and certify its accuracy.

Tick the “I CERTIFY” checkbox if you agree with the displayed details.

By checking this box, you acknowledge that the screening decision will be based solely on the information you have provided and that the outcome is final. If you do not accept these terms, you will be unable to proceed further.

Click the “Continue” button to move on.

STEP V

Upon successful submission and completion of the online screening, you will be taken to the Screening Homepage.

Enter your DE Registration Number again and select “DOWNLOAD RESULT” to obtain your screening report.

C. ONLINE SCREENING GRADING FOR ALL CANDIDATES

The evaluation of applicants will follow a point‑grading system that incorporates the UTME score together with SSCE (or equivalent) grades in the five (5) most relevant subjects for the chosen programme.

The list of relevant subjects can be found in the 2026 JAMB brochure, accessible online at www.jamb.gov.ng or http://ibass.jamb.gov.ng/ebrochure.html.

Prospective candidates should consult the JAMB website to verify the O’Level subject prerequisites for their intended course before taking part in the online admission screening.

Both the payment phase and the registration or amendment period will run for two weeks, from 12 September 2026 to 26 September 2026 (midnight).
