The Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies (ADCOTIES), situated in Gulak, has released a call for applications to fill four senior positions: Rector, Registrar, Bursar and College Librarian.

The institution, located in Gulak within the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, is specifically seeking candidates who are natives of Adamawa State and who meet the detailed qualification criteria for each role.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

1. Rector

The Rector will act as the Chief Executive, Academic and Accounting Officer of ADCOTIES, overseeing daily operations and steering the overall growth and development of the college.

Applicants must hold a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in one of the academic programmes offered by the college, earned from a recognized university.

• Must have attained the rank of Chief Lecturer or an equivalent position, with a minimum of five years served at that rank.
• Must possess at least fifteen years of post‑qualification experience that is directly relevant to teaching, research, community service and administration.
• Relevant industry or professional experience, a strong record of scholarly publications, and membership in appropriate professional bodies are also required where applicable.

2. Registrar

The Registrar will function as the Chief Administrative Officer of the college and will serve as Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board and Congregation.

Applicants must have earned at least a good honours degree, with a minimum classification of Second Class Lower Division, in Humanities, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized university.

• Must have accumulated a minimum of fifteen years of post‑qualification experience in a tertiary institution.
• Must not have held a rank lower than Deputy Registrar (or its equivalent) for at least five years within a higher‑education setting.
• Membership of a relevant professional body is also mandatory.

3. Bursar

The Bursar will be the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the management, control and accounting of the college’s financial resources.

Applicants must possess a good honours degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Second Class Lower Division classification in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized institution.

• Must hold a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ANAN.
• Must have a minimum of fifteen years of post‑qualification experience in a tertiary institution that is directly related to the duties of the post.
• Must have served at least three years at the rank of Deputy Bursar or an equivalent position in a higher‑education environment.

4. College Librarian

The College Librarian will be tasked with developing, organising and managing library services that support teaching, learning and research activities.

Applicants must have earned at least a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLS) from a university; a Ph.D. will be considered an added advantage.

• Must have accumulated a minimum of fifteen years of post‑qualification experience in a tertiary institution.
• Must not have held a rank lower than Chief Librarian (or its equivalent) for at least three years.
• Must provide evidence of substantial scholarly publications in reputable, peer‑reviewed journals and be registered with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).

General Requirements

All candidates for the advertised posts must demonstrate high moral standards, impeccable character and should not be inclined to advance any racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interests.

• Must possess basic Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competencies.
• Must be in good physical and mental health.
• The age ceiling for each position is sixty (60) years at the time the appointment is assumed.

Terms of Appointment

The initial appointment will span four (4) years and may be renewed for an additional four‑year term, subject to the conditions stipulated by the college.

Candidates applying for the Rector position must also attach a typewritten vision statement not exceeding five hundred (500) words, outlining their strategic plan for the college over the four‑year tenure.

Applicants are further required to request the three referees to forward confidential reference reports directly to the college. One of the referees must be the applicant’s current employer or immediate past supervisor.
