THE National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of its May/June 2017 National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate examinations.
Announcing the result, its Registrar, Professor Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, said the result showed that 58.7 per cent of the candidates, which translates to 33,712 of the 55,448 total enrolment figure scored five credits and above including Mathematics and English Language compared to 55.9 per cent that got the same scores last year. 47,360 candidates representing 82.53 per cent scored five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.
Prof. Ifeoma said there was reduction in this year’s cases of examination malpractices as 1,905 candidates, representing 3.26 per cent, were involved in examination malpractice against 2,273 cases recorded last year.
She, however, charged the Federal Ministry of Education to enforce the admission policy approved by the National Council on Examination (NCE) to apply the 30:70 ratio in favour of Technical and Vocational Education in the admission of students to Federal Science and Technical Colleges.
