The Students' Union Government of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, has officially announced the cancellation of the Biochemistry course registration fee.
This decision affects 200 and 300-level students in the College of Medicine, who were previously required to pay the fee. According to a circular signed by the SUG President, Comr. Kelvin Onah M, the Secretary General, Comr. Okolo Bethel, and His Excellency, Comr. Jumbo Princess Somezikam, a thorough review of the payment structure revealed that the fee was already included in the approved tuition.
Following a meeting with the Department of Biochemistry, the department has been informed that the separate charge is no longer required. As a result, students are no longer required to make any separate payment for Biochemistry Registration, except for the N5,000 for the Biochemistry Manual.
The SUG has assured students who had already made the payment that they would be refunded, with further details on the refund process to be communicated soon. This development is seen as a significant victory for student advocacy in the institution.
