Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has introduced a digital mobile application aimed at streamlining students' academic processes, marking a significant step in the institution's shift towards digital operations. This development was announced in an internal memo issued on February 24, 2026, by the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology to all department heads and students.
According to the memo signed by the Director of ICT, Engr. Prof. J.P. Iloh, the new platform is now available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The mobile application allows students to perform essential academic and administrative tasks seamlessly. To begin using the app, students are required to download it and follow the onboarding guide provided via an official video link.
The COOU App features a range of tools, including school fees payment, online course registration, result checking, online clearance, real-time CGPA updates, lecture and CBT scheduling, student complaint resolution, SUG election voting, and 24-hour support for students and lecturers. It also introduces innovative components such as AI-driven CGPA improvement hints, AI-powered CBT question generation, a student wallet system for fee payments, lecture and examination evaluation modules, and the creation of official COOU-based email addresses for all students.
Students who have paid their school fees for the 2025/2026 academic session can commence course registration on the new platform upon payment of the compulsory ICT fee of ₦15,000 via the CREDO platform integrated into the app. While the old platform remains functional, all students are required to register their courses for the 2025/2026 session on both platforms. Department heads must ensure submission of approved course lists to enable smooth profiling and registration on the new system.
The launch of the mobile application highlights COOU's commitment to innovation, efficiency, and digital transformation. As the university advances its analog-to-digital migration, students and staff are encouraged to adopt the new platform to enhance transparency, accessibility, and overall academic experience.
