The Board of Trustees of Tansian University, Umunya, has officially released a statement addressing recent publications regarding the institution's leadership. The University characterized the reports as misleading and designed to malign the reputation of the current Chancellor.
In a formal rebuttal signed by Prof. Ozokwere Helen Nkechi JP, Secretary to the Board of Trustees, the institution categorically denied any dispute regarding its administrative structure. The statement clarifies that Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Edwin S.C. Obiorah JSD SAN remains the duly recognized, legitimate, and lawful Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
His position is valid, subsisting, and fully backed by the appropriate institutional and legal frameworks governing the University, the statement read, adding that any claims to the contrary are false and intended to create public disaffection.
The University further dismissed the circulating allegations as unsubstantiated, labeling them as products of mischief, distortion, and deliberate character assassination. The Board emphasized that the reports failed to meet basic standards of credibility and should be disregarded in their entirety.
Sensational reports built on speculation, selective narratives, or undisclosed interests do not constitute facts and should not be treated as such.
The Board urged stakeholders, the academic community, and the general public to ignore narratives that seek to undermine the stability of the institution. Reaffirming its focus, the University stated it remains committed to its founding vision and academic excellence under the current leadership of Prof. Obiorah.
The release concluded by reinforcing that the leadership of Tansian University stands firm, clear, and undisputed.
