The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) College of Nursing Sciences is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its specialized two-semester training programmes. These programmes include Critical Care Nursing, Nephrology Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, and Perioperative Nursing.

The goal of these courses is to equip Registered Nurses (RN) with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for effective, safe, and evidence-based practice.

To be eligible for admission, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria: they must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), have at least five O' Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry, and have at least one year of post-qualification experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

The accepted exams for the O' Level credit passes are GCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS. Note that NABTEB and NBAIS are not combinable with other exams like NECO or WAEC, but a combination of WAEC and NECO is acceptable.

The application fee is ₦11,000, and the sales of the application form commence on 7th April, 2026. The closing date for application is 7th June, 2026, and the entrance examination is scheduled for 7th July, 2026. Lectures are expected to commence on 9th November, 2026.
