The University of Benin has announced the end of the first semester for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to a circular from the Office of the Registrar dated April 14, 2026, first semester examinations will conclude on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Following this, students will proceed on a semester break starting Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The second semester is set to commence on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with students expected to return to their halls of residence on that date. Lectures across all faculties and schools will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The university management has directed that all students must vacate the halls of residence on or before 12 noon on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Vice Chancellor Edoba B. Omoregie commended staff and students for their dedication and cooperation throughout the semester, encouraging students to use the break to rest and prepare for the upcoming session.
