The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, has received official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 10 new postgraduate programmes. This development follows a thorough assessment by the NUC resource verification team, which evaluated the Academy's facilities, learning materials, and faculty readiness.
The 10 approved programmes will be offered as full-time courses, providing new academic paths in security, law, science, and business. These include a Master's in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control, Postgraduate Diplomas in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Police Studies, among others.
The approved programmes are: 1. Master’s in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control (MCM) 2. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control 3. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Peace and Conflict Studies 4. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Police Studies 5. M.Sc. and Master’s in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship (MBA) 6. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Management Studies 7. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Law 8. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Biochemistry 9. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Financial Economics 10. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc. in Forensic DNA
The Nigeria Police Academy, dedicated to refining the skills and knowledge of senior police officers, will now open its doors to a wider audience, including personnel from other security and intelligence agencies, and interested members of the general public.
