Prince Abubakar Audu University’s administration in Anyigba has disclosed that the university will host its 27th Inaugural Lecture, marking the ninth such lecture during Vice‑Chancellor Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman’s tenure, which began on 11 February 2026.

The event is set for Tuesday, 8 September 2026, commencing sharply at 10:00 a.m. in the University Auditorium.

Professor Oja Paul Egwemi, who holds a chair in Dramatic Literature and Film Studies, will present the inaugural lecture entitled “THE GOWNS WE WEAR, THE TOWNS WE GO: RETHINKING PERFORMANCE CURRICULA FOR DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA AMID A POLYCRISIS.”

Vice‑Chancellor Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman warmly invites both the university community and the wider public to join this significant scholarly gathering, which aims to deepen intellectual dialogue and provoke thoughtful consideration of how performance curricula contribute to national development amid Nigeria’s complex challenges.
