JAMB Delists Four CBT Centres, Hands Over 27 Impersonators To Police

May, 01Views: 1177

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres and handed over 27 impersonators to law enforcement authorities for prosecution in connection with the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, made the announcement in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja on Friday.

He revealed that the affected CBT centres were removed from the examination process for failing to meet the Board’s stringent technical and ethical standards.

The delisted centres include:
- Adventure Associate, located behind Sheshe Supermarket, off Hadejia Road, Kano;
- Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano;
- Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd., Centres 1 and 2, both situated at 96km Sokoto–Jega Road, Tambuwal.

“While JAMB commends the 883 centres that have so far demonstrated exemplary performance, the Board has zero tolerance for negligence or malpractice. Any centre that falls short—regardless of status or location—will be blacklisted,” Benjamin stated.

Candidates previously scheduled to sit for the exam at the delisted centres are advised to immediately reprint their examination notification slips to obtain updated details on their new venues and dates.

“We regret any inconvenience caused, but excuses from candidates who fail to comply will not be entertained,” he added.

As of Friday, April 25, over 900,000 candidates out of the 2,083,600 registered for the 2025 UTME had successfully completed their examinations.

In a related update, JAMB confirmed the arrest of 27 impersonators, who have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution.

On the recent incident at Caleb University involving the harassment of candidates wearing hijabs, Benjamin assured that swift corrective action was taken. He disclosed that the university’s Vice-Chancellor condemned the overzealous conduct of a security officer and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to candidate rights.

“We sincerely apologise to the affected candidates and commend the university’s leadership for their prompt and responsible intervention, which ensured no candidate was unfairly disadvantaged,” he said.
