The Office of International Relations, Partnerships and Prospects at the University of Lagos is inviting applications for the Blended Intensive Programme on Doctoral Education. The programme, hosted by the University of Lille in France, is a collaborative effort with the University of Valladolid and SGroup – Universities in Europe.
The Blended Intensive Programme is designed to bring together PhD candidates, supervisors, researchers, and administrative staff to discuss emerging trends and innovative practices in doctoral education. The programme will provide a platform for participants to engage in knowledge exchange, explore new approaches to doctoral supervision and support, and strengthen institutional cooperation in doctoral training.
Key developments shaping doctoral education, including international research collaboration, open science, artificial intelligence, and evolving societal expectations of research and higher education, will be the focus of the programme. Through interactive sessions and collaborative discussions, participants will share best practices and contribute to building a responsible, sustainable, and globally oriented doctoral education framework.
The programme will take place in two sessions: an online session on Monday, May 18, 2026, and an on-site programme from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3, 2026, at the University of Lille in France. The working language of the programme is English.
The application deadline is Monday, March 30, 2026. Only 25 participants will be selected. Interested applicants can review the programme details, including the draft programme, thematic focus areas, accommodation information, and registration procedures on the programme website.
Participants may also be eligible to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility grant, subject to the rules and procedures of their home institution. Members of staff and PhD candidates interested in participating are encouraged to apply before the stated deadline. After submitting their application through the programme website, applicants are required to send a notification email to Dr. Victor Onifade via vonifade@unilag.edu.ng for institutional record and coordination purposes.
