The University of Jos administration has released an official statement following a disturbing video showing a student in the custody of abductors. The incident has been verified and formally reported to the relevant authorities.
In response to this developing situation, the Director and security agencies are actively working toward a safe rescue. The university has issued a set of immediate directives to the student body and faculty to ensure the safety of all parties involved and to prevent interference with ongoing operations.
Official Directives and Safety Protocols include the suspension of all fundraising activities, non-interference with security agencies, and heightened caution to prevent exploitation by the abductors. Students are warned that those responsible may be monitoring public efforts and could worsen the situation.
The university has also issued a strict advisory to faculty members and student group leaders to refrain from making public statements or social media posts regarding the incident without prior clearance from the Directorate. Officials emphasized that social media speculation will not lead to a resolution and may negatively impact the victim's safety.
The University's Dean, Directorate of Student Affairs, Christopher Piwuna, stated, 'Our thoughts and prayers are with the student and his loved ones during this difficult time. We advise the university community to act responsibly to avoid actions that may worsen the situation for the victim, his family, or the community.'
