Northwest University, Kano State, has taken a strong stance against examination malpractice by expelling 34 students found guilty of the offense.
The decision to expel these students was made during the university's 66th statutory Senate meeting, which took place on June 17 and 18, 2026. This move follows recommendations from the Senate Committee on Examination Misconduct, stemming from incidents that occurred during the Second Semester 2024/2025 examinations.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit on behalf of the Registrar, Dr. Isyaku Adamu, the disciplinary actions were in line with the institution's strict examination regulations as outlined in the Students' Handbook.
The university has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic integrity, emphasizing the importance of students adhering strictly to examination rules and regulations to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence.
