Bayero University, Kano management cautions social media content creators against using the University's name to spread unverified information.

The University has noticed that some platforms have falsely announced the promotion of senior academics to Professor, despite the promotion process not being completed.

  • The promotion process involves the Appointments and Promotions Committee's recommendations
  • These recommendations are then sent to external assessors for review
  • A promotion to Professor is only official after the external assessment and University Council approval

Content creators should verify University news through official channels, including verified social media, the official website, and the University Bulletin.

The University will take action against individuals or platforms spreading false information that damages its reputation or misleads the public.
