Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, OAUTHC Schools of Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, Post Basic General Nursing and POST BASIC MIDWIFERY admission forms for the 2017/2018 academic session are now on sale.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife following programs:

1. BASIC GENERAL NURSING
2. POST BASIC GENERAL NURSING
3. PERI-OPERATIVE
4. POST BASIC MIDWIFERY

I.    BASIC GENERAL NURSING

This is a three-year program commencing in October, 2017.

REQUIREMENT
Applicants must possess: WAEC/SSCE/GCE or NECO, SSCE/GCE 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. He or She should be at least Seventeen (17) years old on admission.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

CLOSING DATE
Completed application form should be returned to the office of the Principal, Schools of Nursing, I.H.U., Ile-Ife and W.G.H., Ilesa respectively on or before Friday 19th May, 2017.

DATE OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Entrance examination shall be conducted by the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Nursing & Midwifery Committee on Saturday 3rd June, 2017.

II.    POST BASIC GENERAL NURSING

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:-

possess WAEC,SSCE/GCE or NECO,SSCE/GCE – 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English language, Mathematics and three Sciences i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

be a Registered Midwife or Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

have at least one year post registration working experience after the mandatory Community one year service (Midwives only).

TEST AND SELECTION INTERVIEW
Written Test 13th June, 2017
Oral interview 14th – 15th June, 2017

III.    PERI-OPERATIVE NURSING

This is a Twelve (12) month program commencing in November, 2017.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:-

possess the WAEC,SSCE/GCE or NECO, SSCE/GCE with at least 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) in English Language and at least one Science subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry or Biology for candidates who finished General Nursing before 2006.

possess English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Candidates who finished General Nursing from 2006.

be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

have at least one year post qualification experience.

CLOSING DATE

IV. POST BASIC MIDWIFERY

This is an eighteen-month programme commencing in September, 2017

Applicants must:-

possess WAEC, SSCE/GCE or NECO, SSCE/GCE with five (5) credits (at not more than two-sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology).

be a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Applicants awaiting the result of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Examination may also apply but must present Registration Number from Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria at the interview.

Oral interview 14th – 15th June, 2017
