The Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority (KSSQAA) has officially unveiled the revised and approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session. This calendar applies to all basic and post-basic public and private schools across the state. It was signed by Professor Usman Abubakar-Zaria, the Director-General of KSSQAA.

The upcoming session is structured into three terms, with specific dates allocated to each term and holiday period. The breakdown is as follows: · First Term: Sunday, 7th September 2025 to Friday, 12th December 2025, spanning 14 academic weeks · First Term Holiday: Saturday, 13th December 2025 to Sunday, 11th January 2026, lasting 4 weeks · Second Term: Monday, 12th January 2026 to Wednesday, 18th March 2026, comprising 10 academic weeks · Second Term Holiday: Wednesday, 18th March 2026 to Sunday, 12th April 2026, which is 3 weeks · Third Term: Sunday, 12th April 2026 to Friday, 24th July 2026, covering 15 academic weeks · Third Term (Long) Holiday: Saturday, 25th July 2026 to Sunday, 6th September 2026, stretching over 6 weeks

The KSSQAA has also provided a preview for the first term of the 2026/2027 session, which is set to commence on Sunday, 6th September 2026, and conclude on Friday, 18th December 2026, spanning 15 academic weeks.

In a circular addressed to key education stakeholders, including the State Ministry of Education, SUBEB, teachers' unions, and associations of private school owners, the KSSQAA has emphasized that all schools in the state must adhere strictly to the calendar's provisions. The notice includes standard clarifications, such as the observation of national holidays as announced by the Federal or State Government, and the prompt notification of any alterations to the calendar.

The release of this calendar is expected to enable schools, parents, and guardians to plan adequately for the upcoming academic year, ensuring a smooth and organized educational process for all stakeholders involved.
