Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has formally announced the rescheduling of its 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students.

According to an official notice issued to staff and students, the matriculation ceremony earlier fixed for Tuesday, 16 December 2025 has been moved to Thursday, 15 January 2026. The time frame remains unchanged.

The University explained that the adjustment affects only the date, while all other arrangements remain as previously communicated.

Updated Ceremony Details

The revised details of the matriculation ceremony are as follows:
    •    Date: Thursday, 15 January 2026
    •    Time: 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
    •    Venue: Amphitheatre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife
    •    Mode: Physical attendance, conducted in three (3) batches

Matriculation Batches And Faculty Groupings

Batch A (10.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.)
This batch comprises undergraduate and postgraduate students from the following Faculties:
    •    Faculty of Administration
    •    Faculty of Arts
    •    Faculty of Law

Batch B (11.30 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.)
This batch includes undergraduate and postgraduate students from:
    •    Faculty of Agriculture
    •    Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
    •    Faculty of Clinical Sciences
    •    Faculty of Dentistry
    •    Faculty of Education
    •    Faculty of Science

Batch C (1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m.)
This batch covers undergraduate and postgraduate students from:
    •    Faculty of Technology
    •    Faculty of Computing Science and Engineering
    •    Faculty of Pharmacy
    •    Faculty of Social Sciences
    •    Faculty of Environmental Design and Management

Each batch has a clearly defined time slot, and students are required to attend strictly within the period allocated to their respective Faculties.

Purpose Of The Notice

The University emphasized that the circular serves as both an official notification and a formal invitation to the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony. All concerned staff and students are expected to take note of the revised date and comply fully with the approved batch schedule.
