The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, has secured full accreditation status for twenty of its academic programmes.
A letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of IAUE, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, dated Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, listed the programmes as follows:
Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences: Banking and Finance, Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. Faculty of Education: Educational Management, Educational Technology, and Library and Information Science. Faculty of Humanities: Fine and Applied Arts, Foreign Languages and International Studies, History and Diplomatic Studies, Music, Religious and Cultural Studies, and Theatre and Film Studies. Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences: Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Faculty of Social Sciences: Geography, Economics, Social Work, and Sociology.
These programmes with full accreditation status are valid for a period of five years. The National Universities Commission (NUC) regulates university education in Nigeria with a focus on quality assurance, research, and expanding access to education.
