The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finalized plans to hold its 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions on May 11, 2026. This announcement was made by the Board's Head of Media and Publication, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
The meeting will take place at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, located in the Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja. Key stakeholders expected to attend include Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and admission officers from various institutions. Representatives of regulatory bodies like the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will also be present.
Apart from the announcement of the minimum admission cut-off, the meeting will chart policy directions for the nation’s tertiary institutions, set admission guidelines for 2026, and make a holistic review of application statistics, performance, decide concessional and acceptable minimum admissions standards to be applied in all admissions to be undertaken by all tertiary institutions in Nigeria as well as evaluate the 2025 admission exercise.
The 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M) is also scheduled to hold during the event. This initiative has promoted strict adherence to admission guidelines and contributed significantly to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria.
